What is life
when no one cares?
You're all alone,
no one else is there
for you when you scream
or when you cry.
Instead of hoping and praying
for the best, you wanna die.
You bathe in your problems
and issues.
There could never be
enough tissues
to stop the fountain
that flows from your face.
It feels as if you'll never
leave this place
where you're punched in the back
and stabbed in the heart.
People try so hard
to tear you apart;
to strip you
of all your joy.
You're collapsing
and being destroyed.
You can't take it anymore,
you can't handle it.
I know life's difficult
and you wanna quit.
You shout, "I wanna get off this boat!"
But you hesitate 'cause
you think you can't float.
Nothing else is
stopping you.
It's possible to
escape the gloom.
But you hold yourself back,
you're in your own way
because you can't
imagine a day
that goes on without agony,
and carries on without pain.
So you stay in your place
and cry and complain.
You're blinding yourself,
but this is all you know.
You're used to hanging your head
and feeling low.
How can happiness
possibly exist?
There just can't be days
when you're not pissed
or angry and frustrated,
bitter, and sad.
And it's terrible--
just a little too bad
that you can't see that
the sun really does shine.
There really are people who are
loving, gentle, and kind.
So just hang in there,
I know it's tough.
You can fight your way through,
don't give up.
The future holds
better times.
Keep positive thoughts
in your mind.
One day, there will
be greener grass.
Just be patient for now,
all this will pass.
